KIDS SPENDING MORE TIME ONLINE (less thankful, less with family)

The time that U.S. Children aged 2-11 spend on the Web grew 63% over the past 5 years, from 7 hours in ’04 to 11 hours this year, a Nielsen study says.  Experts say the youngest of this set – 2- to 4-year-olds – are probably just sitting in a parent’s lap in front of a PC, being exposed to the Internet that way.  Nielsen also found that the number of kids aged 2-11 online has climbed 18% in 5 years to 16 mil, outpacing the 10% growth among all Web users.  These kids now make up 9.5% of the online population.
