Hasan’s Communication Known Months Prior

Panel said earlier that Fort Hood suspect didn’t merit probe Top Stories   |  Updated 1h 1m ago WASHINGTON — A Defense Department worker on a terrorism task force looked into Fort Hood shooting suspect Nidal Hasan’s background months ago, officials said Tuesday. But an assessment concluded that Hasan did not merit further investigation. Two officials speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case on the record said the Washington-based Joint Terrorism Task Force overseen by the FBI was notified of communications between Hasan and a radical imam overseas, and the information was turned over to a Defense Criminal Investigative Service employee. That worker reviewed the Army major’s personnel file and the communications and concluded that no further investigation was necessary. The assessment was based in large part on the fact that Hassan’s communications with the imam were centered on a research paper he was writing at the time. The investigator had concluded Hasan was in fact working on such a paper, the officials said. The imam, Anwar al-Awlaki, was released from a Yemeni jail last year. He has used his personal website to encourage Muslims across the world to kill U.S. troops in Iraq. The disclosure came as the FBI launched an internal review of how it handled the early information about Hasan. Military, law enforcement and intelligence agencies are all facing questions about what they knew about Hasan before he allegedly opened fire in a crowded room at the huge military base in Texas. Thirteen people were killed and 33 were wounded by gunfire in the Fort Hood rampage. Copyright 2009 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. 1. Question: Why didn’t the FBI follow up with the Defense Criminal employee?

2nd Question: If a Defense Criminal Investigative Service employee elects to ‘justify’ a politically incorrect subject communication submitted by the FBI, based solely upon the ‘topic’ of a paper the murderer was writing, this writer questions the validity of the Defense Criminal Investigative Service AND their employees qualifications.

We again find ourselves at the mercy of still another politically correct brainwashed, incompetent and ineffective Federal agency, whose employees are instructed to make excuses to ignore the common sense that God gave them and to ‘look the other way’ all in another Administrative policy to impede the safety of the American Armed Forces and citizens.
