in example, Chairman Mao had quotas for food production. when they were not met he took away their personal reserves. the same went when he need metal to produce machinery for warfare. when the chinese population could not produce enough metal, he made them melt down all there cooking utensils. this is how the teacher normally ran the class if you are bad student I will make your life harder. if you produce I will leave you alone. A grade is not reward. it is a mark of achievement. the school system is essentially a socialist system to begin with, as in Bush's No Child Left behind act, you don't move forward until everyone is a basic level. The experiment of the professor would show what would happen if it were ran the NYSE. The health of the system being judged on the average, rather than the specific sector, when its up people feel good, down inversely bad and so on.

Our government does not give rewards to anyone, socialist governments do. so the logic of this professor is reversed. his model is more accurate is more accurate of freemarket logic. the others do not put work into the system so why should I. A true socialist/communist would say if you do not produce good results equally I will make you stay in class all night until is done, they would not have the freedom to leave.
